Caravan & Motorhome Club Design Award for the ROADSCOUT R

The Caravan & Motorhome Club awards his Design Award to GLOBECAR’s Roadscout R

Receiving an award for one of our models is always something special for us. Of course, the satisfaction of our end customers is awarding enough, but official awards are like the cherry on top of the cake. Especially when being presented by users’ organisations like the UK’s Caravan & Motorhome Club (www.caravanclub.co.uk), because no one can appraise the quality of a motorhome better than the people who use and love them.

Our trade agency in the UK, SMC Motorhomes (www.smcmotorhomes.co.uk), has entered our ROADSCOUT R into the competition during the Caravan, Camping & Motorhome Show in the NEC in Birmingham (21st – 26th February 2017). And ultimately our Roadscout R won the Design Award in the price category £42,000 – £47,000 and SMC’s CEOs Alistair and Gavin Briggs Price received the award on behalf of GLOBECAR on the award gala on 24th February 2017.

The ROADSCOUT R is a consequent development from the Roadscout, which was introduced in 2008. The Roadscout is built for ultimate flexibility and nimbleness, provided by the short 5.40m chassis length. Even besides the short chassis length two passengers do not have to miss out on anything: cosy half dinette for four, the compact kitchenette equipped with a 2-flame hob, sink and plenty of storage space, the practical central washroom with toilet, which can be utilised as a room divider and, last but not least, the comfortable sleeping area with double bed and plenty or storage space beneath.

The model entered into the competition additionally was equipped with our unique raising roof, which creates a second sleeping area on the roof.

The ROADSCOUT R is not only a versatile motorhome. Evermore it is a flexibly usable city mobile, which can manoeuvre tight town streets effortlessly and fit into standard city parking spaces. As a result, the ROADSCOUT R is the embodiment of GLOBECAR’s philosophy of a versatile motorhome: “for travel, transport and everyday use”.
